The "macedonian question" in the history textbooks of the lyceum of Greece and N. Macedonia: a comparative approach

The subject of the present research is the textbooks of modern and contemporary history of the Lyceum that were used or approved for use in Greece and Northern Macedonia since 1990, the year in which the independent state of the latter was founded. Using the methodological premises of Historical Comparative Analysis and Critical Discourse Analysis (Dialectical-relational approach of N. Fairclough), it is sought to examine comparatively how the Macedonian Question is presented on the one hand in the textbooks of each country separately and on the other between the textbooks of Greece and N. Macedonia. The study focuses on the textbooks’ political function as products of social practices. The concept of hybridity, as developed by Clerides, is considered particularly useful in such an analysis. The texts in history textbooks are perceived as a shell in which different textual genres and discourses coexist.Αντικείμενο της παρούσας έρευνας αποτελούν τα σχολικά εγχειρίδια νεότερης και σύγχρονης ιστορίας του Λυκείου που χρησιμοποιήθηκαν ή εγκρίθηκαν προς χρήση στην Ελλάδα και τη Β. Μακεδονία μετά το 1990, χρονιά που δημιουργείται το ανεξάρτητο κράτος της δεύτερης. Με τη βοήθεια των μεθοδολογικών εργαλείων της Ιστορικής Συγκριτικής Ανάλυσης και της Κριτικής Ανάλυσης Λόγου (Διαλεκτική-σχεσιακή προσέγγιση του N. Fairclough) επιδιώκεται να εξεταστεί συγκριτικά ο τρόπος που το Μακεδονικό Ζήτημα παρουσιάζεται αφενός ανάμεσα στα εγχειρίδια κάθε χώρας ξεχωριστά και αφετέρου μεταξύ των εγχειριδίων των δύο χωρών. Η εργασία εστιάζει στον πολιτικό ρόλο που αυτά διαδραματίζουν ως προϊόντα κοινωνικών πρακτικών. Η έννοια της υβριδικότητας, όπως αναπτύχθηκε από τον Κληρίδη, θεωρείται ιδιαίτερα χρήσιμη σε μία τέτοια ανάλυση. Τα κείμενα των εγχειριδίων γίνονται αντιληπτά ως κέλυφος εντός του οποίου συνυπάρχουν διαφορετικά κειμενικά είδη (genres) και λόγοι (discourses)
